Star Wars: Predators
The BTL-S3 Y-Wing is the primary starfighter used by Predator Squadron since joining the Rebel Alliance. Predator Squadron have found it useful to split their forces between multiple Y-Wings and a larger ‘main’ ship during space engagements.
Predator Squadron’s Y-Wings have seen much use across many battlefields from the Charlgoal Sector to the furthermost reaches of the Outer-Rim Territories.
The BTL-S3 variant is particularly useful for Predator Squadron as a dedicated pilot can focus on threats in front of the ship with the Y-Wing’s medium laser cannons and torpedoes whilst a dedicated gunner can attempt to keep ships from intercepting them using the turret mounted light ion cannon.
The old and trusty Y-Wing has served the Rebel Alliance since its inception. The Y-Wing is a dedicated medium attack fighter used to destroy ground targets, space stations, and capital ships. The Alliance have also used it as a space superiority fighter; it can function in this role adequately, but X-Wings or A-Wings are the preferred superiority fighters of the Alliance.
Y-Wings are heavily armed and armoured, with an array of heavy laser cannons, ion cannons, proton torpedoes and proton bombs. Despite its age and drawbacks, the Y-Wing is still popular among a dedicated corps of attack pilots, who prefer the reliable Y-Wing. These ships still see a fair amount of combat, especially in older or poorer Rebel cells.
